Video Poem Step 4

We are heading toward the final stages of unit three. Today there are two main tasks to focus on:

1) Revising and posting the final version of your poetry explication. You should have received feedback from me on the draft of the document. Use this feedback to revise the document. Before submitting it, be sure to proofread and polish all of the details. If you have questions about formatting, citation styles, etc., refer to this MLA style advice. When you have the project revised, post it.

2) We will continue to work on our video poems. As you work, be sure to keep track of the sources that you have used. For our final bibliography submission, you will add those to the sources you have used in your explication and post them on Thursday with the final project. 

Our key task at this stage is to conduct peer reviews. Begin by finding the classmate's video. (If a peer has yet to complete their posting, you can skip that item.)

Next, watch the poem, and then consider:

• the use of imagery
• the role of sound
• the way text is displayed
• the flow of the piece

with these concerns in mind, compose a comment detailing what works well and no more than two suggestions for the most important revisions. Once you have completed one review, move on the the other two that you have been assigned.
