Once we have listened to a couple of samples, we will conduct a peer review exercise. You can complete this in class or as homework if you do not finish. Follow these steps:

Listen to at least four of the audio essays that have been posted on our site. Don't just start at the top, but instead choose four randomly from the list.

Today we will experiment with the best ways of integrating "expert audio" snippets from others into our essays. Before getting started, we will prepare our Audacity programs to export files in mp3 format. Follow these steps:

First, open the file you are composing with the draft of your audio essay. (If you have yet to begin the project, you will need to open a new project.)

Here are the final instructions for posting all of your social media work--due before class on Monday:

First, locate all of the images you have created, and make sure you have copies on your laptop--there will be four:

  • Instagram meme image1
  • Instagram meme image2
  • Animated GIF meme image
  • Animated GIF art image

Once you have located the files for each of these images, you can create captures of your Instagram stories. The aim will be to record an mp4 file that captures the story.

Today we will go over our visuals and storytelling video assignment. We will begin this project as we wrap up our social media projects.

We will also do an improv activity using phones and phone applications as composing tools. (If you do not have a smart phone, partner with a fellow classmate.)

Next, we will revisit the strategies for making short videos into animated GIFs, and then adjusting the timing of materials.
