Today we will focus on getting started with revisions to our audio essays, and then on preparing for our podcasts by conducting research. Follow these steps:
- First, make sure you have completed the peer review activities assigned last class.
- Once you have given feedback to four essays, return to your own essay and review all of the comments.
- Finally, add your own comment to your audio essay draft posting. In the comment, spell out two or three major areas of focus that you will concentrate on in your revision.
Next, begin conducting the research required for your podcast project. (Note you may find that this work is also helpful for the final revisions of your audio essay.) Follow these steps:
- Use the library Articles + search option to look for research sources related to your topic.
- Also use the library Google Scholar search option to look for materials.
- Using these or other resources, identify five scholarly-oriented sources related to your topic.
- Next, open a word processing document. Enter the first of your five sources. Beneath the entry, paste or type in two quotations from the source that might be useful for a conversation about your topic. Beneath each entry also type in two questions you might ask related to the source and topic.
- Repeat this process for all five sources.
When finished, use the Podcast Research option on our web site to upload your document with your sources, quotations, and questions.
For homework, continue working on the podcast research assignment, posting it by noon on Friday. Also continue working on revising your Audio Essay, which is due in one week. On Friday the 29th, we will not hold class so that you can use the time to keep working on these tasks.
