Here are the final instructions for posting all of your social media work--due before class on Monday:

First, locate all of the images you have created, and make sure you have copies on your laptop--there will be four:

  • Instagram meme image1
  • Instagram meme image2
  • Animated GIF meme image
  • Animated GIF art image

Once you have located the files for each of these images, you can create captures of your Instagram stories. The aim will be to record an mp4 file that captures the story.

There are likely several ways to do this, so if you have another approach, that is fine. As long as your are able to get an mp4 recording of your story off of Instagram, you will be good to go. Here is how I did it:

First, we will add all of the pieces of your story to a highlight on Instagram

To do this, locate your instagram story. You may have to use your phone to access your archive: Go to Profile view, and select clock-like icon.

Once you have your story open and playing, as it plays, use the more option [. . .] to add that segment to your highlights. As you do so, you will want to create a new highlight for each story. You will need to add every segment of the story in sequence to add it to your highlight.

Keep working until you have created two highlights--one for each story. Each highlight should have all of the segments of the story.

Once you have completed all of these steps you should have a highlight on your profile that contains all of the pieces of your story. This video gives you an idea.

Repeat this process for your second story. Continue working until you have both stories saved as highlights on your Instagram profile.

Next, navigate to your Instagram Profile on your laptop. Open the screen recorder we used for our video poem activities (https://www.apowersoft.com/free-online-screen-recorder). You can use a different screen recorder if you have one.

Next, capture an mp4 file for each of your highlights.

After all of this, you should have 4 image files and 2 mp4 files.

Finally, on our web site go to Add Content > Social Media Postings.

Use the first four upload buttons on the posting to add your images.

Use the last two upload buttons to add your Instagram stories.

Submit the posting before class on Monday February 18th.
