Today we will look over editing strategies for our visuals and storytelling video scripts. We will use an example as a model.
Next we will reiterate the qualities that make a successful reflection video:
- A scripted narration with tight language that offers larger conclusions about culture, communication, and/or learning.
- Visuals that resonate with the script
- Dynamic editing that zooms in, transitions between clips, creates highlights, and/or otherwise avoids visuals of simply filming the screen
- Engaging use of capturing to play media items in projects and show composing processes
- Compelling audio--background music, narration, and project components
Also, note that we will make the final submission time for the Visuals and Storytelling video this Friday.
Next, we will use the time in class to continue developing the scripts and composition for our visuals and storytelling videos. If you have already posted your script, you can make any revisions based on our demonstration today if you feel like that will be useful. Or you can begin working on capturing media and composing the video. Use the time to continue working on or revising your script and make sure to post it by 6:00PM tonight if you have not already done so.

A Tale of Two Soundscapes
I really liked how the author of this podcast was able to tell her whole story in a clear and concise way. The background sounds of the soundscape make the project great in my opinion. The authors description as well as the background noise was able to give more of a description of what is going on in the story and the environment around the creator. I liked how the difference in soundscape was both told through storytelling and background soundscape noises.
