  • Yes the essay quoted all of the articles used. Scholarship articles were used
  • The essay zoomed in on the poem talking about it a lot. Solid points were made in the poem. The interpretation of the poem was well said.
  • One concern I have for the essay is to elaborate more after the quotes
  • Yes it was formatted well with all the quotations

1. Make sure to have quotations around whatever you are citing. Can get confusing not knowing what you wrote of what you are citing.

2. Love the use of quoting the poem to before analyzing it, but make sure to use block quotation if its more than 4 lines. I like your interpretation that Hughes is yearning for the day African Americans will be treated equally because they are are the same as every other American and want to be proud of who they are.

3. I would say along with interpreting this poem literally, what else would Hughes be referring to? maybe segregation since they can't eat at the same table? etc.

4. This is in APA style, make sure to change to MLA (don't need a title page or headers" When you cite the poem, make sure to cite which lines they were.

Overall a great paper, would mainly focus on trying to analyze deeper what this poem is getting at.

  • Implements quotations from scholarly articles.
  • Great interpretation of the poem and zoom reading of the poem.
  • Add a bit to the conclusion, maybe summarize the points made in the analysis.
  • Quotations properly integrated for both articles and poem.
