Today we will talk about some of the issues in the reading.

Here are some segments of the film to consider:

5:45-8:35 vision of internet and how it relates to remix? If no longer true, does it invalidate remix? Are the laws from analog no longer true?

After discussing the film, we will talk about fair use. We will use the US Copyright Office guidelines, and then watch a short video.

For homework, complete these two tasks:

1. Read a short chapter on visual strategies and share an image.

2. Provide peer reviews of at least four video poems. Watch the poems, and then consider:

• the use of imagery
• the role of sound
• the way text is displayed
• the flow of the piece
