You did a great job with this! I liked both the pacing and the tone you used in your narration. It was easy to follow and kept me interested. You also did a really good job of transitioning into your expert audio pieces. You might want to look into messing with the audio settings of the excerpt around the 1:00 mark. It sounds a little muffled for some reason, when compared to the other pieces included. Nonetheless, this was a really interesting essay and I certainly learned some new things listening to it.

The narrative voice is really doing well at providing a conversational feel. There is some rustling paper sound in spots at the beginning. You can likely tighten the script a small bit to keep the narration moving along—just a bit. The set up to the clips is working well. The audio quality of the clip has a bit of a processed feel to it. The Sapir-Worf segment in particular can likely be shortened with some script tightening. The second Lena segment might be trimmed a bit. The piece has a nice conclusion. The way it is set up with the eyewitness quote from Lena and the rest of the narration feels like it might be tweaked a bit to keep things flowing and hit just the right combination of clip and narration. All of this is to say that this is working well, so some more trimming and adjustments will take it to the next level. Nice work.

I am a linguistics major, so I am definitely partial to your audio essay. You had great inflection in your voice, kept a consistent pace, and made it conversational.  Your sound clips were also really great for enhancing your topic.  In your 30 seconds or so, it sounds like there was some rustling of papers or something like that. Other than that, I think it is a great audio essay.

These comments helped me to hone in on the elements of my audio essay that I need to focus on for my revision. I plan on re-recording the first section of my audio as the rustling sound of papers and the changing placement of my microphone distracts the listener from the content. I'm also going to tighten up the overall script, focusing on the parts that you guys mentioned above like the Sapir-Whorf segment. I think shortening those parts will help to hold listeners attention and make the overall essay sound better. Finally, I definitely notice the odd sound that Lena's audio has in a few of the segments. I am not sure what happened with those but I am going to recapture those audio clips and hopefully make them sound better.
