After we discuss, I will give some guidance into the key aspects of composing, and then go over the submission process for your draft video. Here are the core steps:

Export your video draft in mp4 format. If it is less than 150 megabytes, you can upload it to your video poem posting

If it is more than 150 megabytes, you will first need to upload it to YouTube or Vimeo--create an account if needed. Once you have done that, you can copy the URL and us that to submit the project.

For homework, you will want to complete this reading before class on Wednesday.

Also be sure to submit your draft video before class on Wednesday.

I thought this video was very interesting and brought attention to a important topic. I agree with some of my classmates that there is a difference between copying someones work and using it for inspiration. Also, I do agree it is important to give people credit for their work. However, if people use others work for inspiration or personal enjoyment (ex: singing happy birthday) I do not think it is a crime. If the product sounds or is different than the original product, I don't see how this could be considered copyright. I agree that since copyright is illegal, it doesn't put an end to people using others work, it just causes people to do it secretly. In the video it talked about how many people have been punished or fined for copyright infringement. I was surprised to see how many people "get caught" for breaking the laws of copyright because the internet makes it easy to use other peoples music, pictures, ideas etc.
