Why Failing Isn't Such a Bad Thing

and other lessons from an English class 

English 149: Networked and Multimedia Storytelling is ranked among the most interesting classes that I have ever taken. When planning my courses for the Spring 2019 semester, I was looking for classes in which I could gain skills that I otherwise wouldn’t in a conventional classroom setting. This class has most definitely fulfilled my expectations. Professor Daniel Anderson created a great space for digital adventure and creativity. Because I consider my technical skills to be pretty mediocre, I felt nervous feelings when first reading what exactly the class would consist of. While I enjoy various versions of the projects that we created, I never really considered actually making them until joining this class.

I enjoyed the freedom of being able to choose our own direction for projects. I was able to tie in a part of me into each one of my projects which I will later explain. This class pushed me out of my comfort zone and forced me to act on my ideas and visions. While I enjoyed making the projects, I equally appreciated the experience of reading, watching, and listening to my classmates’ work as well. As a pretty diverse cohort of students, we were all able to bring unique perspective to the outline that Mr. Dan created.

This class taught me new and improved ways to communicate as a millenial and has enhanced my skill set, tremendously!

This portfolio includes all the work I have completed this semester in Networked and Multimedia Composition. I encourage you to look through and see how I stepped outside of my comfort zone and created successful multimedia projects. 

The goal of my portfolio is to communicate to my audience that literature does not only come in the form of print. Through this course I have come to realize that literature can take so many different forms and that is why I have adopted the theme for this course of transforming literature to media. 

This portfolio contains a whole semester's worth of knowledge and hard work. Delve into the details of podcasts, memes and whole lot more, while learning about how we communicate with each other in other ways than written text. 

My portfolio consists of all of my work from my multimedia course at UNC Chapel Hill. Follow through the process I took to get to each finished project and learn how I was able to adapt two very important skills along the way.
