Video Poem Project

First Draft:

Revision:

After receiving feedback from my peers and my instructor, I changed the lettering (color, font, effects) so that it would be easier to see and it would add to the video. I also changed some of the visuals to make less use of the repetition effect that I originally thought would work out, but it did not. I still made use of some repetition, but only with one image rather than several. I also added more of the human images based on the feedback I received.

Social Media Postings

Meme 1:

trump meme

This was the first meme that I created. I was debating between this background or one composed of the president's tweets. However, I figured that this one would be better because if I used too many tweets, it would take the focus away from the message of the meme. I used lyrics from a Drake song that I figured was a part of popular culture and most people would understand. I tried to follow the guidelines to what makes a meme go viral that we discussed in class.

Meme 2:

cat

For this meme, I wanted to do something more simple than the last. So I found a picture that I could use wordplay on. So I thought of an idea first then found a picture that would work with the idea in my head.

GIF 1:

fish gif

For this GIF, the most challenging part was trying to get the letter to pop up at the timing that I wanted them to. I had to play with the layers and with which layers had the text versus which didn't. After hours of messing around with it, This was the result and I was content.

GIF 2:

daisy

This GIF was just as difficult since I have never done anything like this. I wanted to have movement and still aspects as well so picking the subject of it really took the longest. Then figuring out how to make it change colors, took some time since I had to play with different image settings. Looking back at this now, the selection area could be done better as I see some of it outside of the daisy.

Revised:

My Revised version was based on feedback that I received. I recorded my audio over because I was unhappy with the tone in my original recording. I also changed the expert audio to be more human rather than robotic. This took a lot of preparation and editing overall.
