Today will be a heavy work day. We will briefly discuss our reading, and then go over the logistics for submitting a video to YouTube or Vimeo.

Next, we will discuss the videos in progress. I have added an option to get feedback on your videos before they are due on Wednesday. If you would like to post your video-in-progress for class discussion or feedback, use this link to submit it before class on Tuesday.

Once we have a good sense of how to keep progressing with the videos, we will discuss our essay drafts, which are due at the beginning of class on Thursday. For our discussion, we will look at an example and possibly a second example. We will also discuss the MLA formatting details for essays in the arts and humanities. As you work to revise and to polish all the formatting aspects of your essay, make sure to think first about the organization and the work the sections/paragraphs are doing to move your thoughts forward. You may want to develop a new paragraph structure to help organize your ideas. You can also check that the paragraphs you develop have transitions that set the ideas up. You can also check whether any quotations from your research will fit with the focus of the paragraphs. And you will want to weave details from the poem into theses sections.

You will also want to revise and polish any other aspects of the essay; pay attention to: 1) quotation marks within quotations and 2) quoting poetry that contains line breaks, 3) titles, and 4) specific discussions of aspects of poetry.

Once we have discussed everything, I will return your draft essays, and then we will continue to draft or revise our projects.

For homework, post a draft of your video poem if you are interested in getting some feedback.
