Today we will use the first part of class to make a sound board for our podcast. Follow these steps:

  • Use your podcast materials and talking points document to identify the audio clips that you want to play in your podcast session.
  • Identify the first audio clip, and then open the file using Audacity (or your preferred audio editor). Trim the clip so that only the core elements that you want to include in your podcast are present. Export the clip in mp3 (or wav) format.
  • Repeat this process for the remaining clips in your talking points document
  • Next, open all of the clips in a media player (Quicktime or Windows Media Player, VLC). If you are unable to open multiple clips in your media player, open multiple web browser windows and drag the clips into the windows.
  • After you have all of the clips open, practice moving through them while working through your talking points document

After we have created our "sound boards," we will ask for volunteers to do practice runs with some of our podcasts.

For homework, complete the podcast partner and scheduling activity before class on Monday.
