Today, we will spend some time gathering materials for our portfolios. I will guide us through the process. The first step is to open your portfolio draft, and then Edit the posting. Next, we will add items. Here are the items to collect:

  • Twitter Report: draft and revision(s) Go to the report, and then select the Revisions tab. Identify a state that you want to discuss, and then copy the link to that version. We will add the link(s) to the portfolio.
  • Audio Essay: draft, script(s) and revision(s) Go to the the drafts and bring up your audio essay. Use the right mouse/ctrl-click to view the HTML source of the page. I will guide us through finding the audio player, and then copying the code into your portfolio posting. You can to the same thing for the revisions.
  • App Argument: draft and revision(s). (Before getting started with revisions, be sure to make a copy of your project: File > Save as.) From your draft, use the Share option, and then with the settings on Design Review, use the pulldown menu next to the Update Link button to Copy Embed Code. I will guide us as we add this code to the project. Once you have revised your project, you can repeat this process for the final version.
  • Podcast. Once you have edited and uploaded a version of your podcast, select it from the list, and then repeat the process that we used for your audio essay to add a player in your portfolio.
  • Memes, GIFs, and Instagram Stories. These can be easily inserted using the image options on the posting toolbar. we will insert one of our meme images, and then I will show you how to adjust the size. You can repeat this process for other items.
  • Portfolio Video. Once you have this posted on Monday, I will show you how to embed it in the portfolio
  • Web site comments: You can click on your name in the top-right of this Web site, and then click View Profile, then Activity to see all of the postings and comments that you have made.
  • Any other materials related to the class--improv assignments, images of notebook sketches, marked up papers, additional drafts, extra projects, tweets, etc. These can be uploaded or embedded. I can help as needed.

Once we have worked through these items in the portfolio, you can either work through some of the tasks on our checklist or continue working on your portfolio video.
