Ghosting: A New Reality

I wanted to edit my transitions a bit more and explore where those could go. Also, I wasn't sure if adding background music would be too much.

I liked the intro, it was a nice "hook". When I heard the scary individual's laugh, I was like, "Wow, I wonder where this is going!" I liked how you referred to what the word, ghost, used to mean probably five years ago - and that now, the word has a different meaning. At around ~0:35, you added a social media beep. One, it was a little loud, and two, it came too quick. You just finished a sentence and that beep literally came out of nowhere. My suggestion is adding a little bit of space between the two. Also, you have the same problem at ~0:58. The quote came way, way too quickly. I need a small gap to digest the information you just gave me. In the same vein, after the clip is finished, give us a breather to comprehend what the researcher said, and then you can talk. Otherwise, everything is too close to each other. Another thing you can improve is the ending. The ending ended abruptly. I would add something like maybe, "And that's it for this story! See you guys next week!" and then maybe add soft music at the end.

Other than those things, I liked your audio essay! I do agree, ghosting is really, really easy to do - and most people do probably do it. One thing I have to say is that why would anyone care? The way I view ghosting is - ghosting exist, and people ghost.

From being ghosted and ghosting others, I accept it at this point. It happens and nothing is going to change. That's my perspective on it. So, then the underlying question becomes: why wouldn't I ghost?

Confrontation is harder, directly texting or telling the person that you aren't interested or that you don't want to call or text them anymore or talk to them anymore - why would anyone do any of those things if they can just simply ghost?

Even if you tell them all the disadvantages that happens when you ghost someone like ostracism or social rejection or silent treatment - this is similar to smoking or doing drugs. People know that smoking and doing drugs is bad. Everything knows it at this point, there is no way no one knows that those things aren't harmful. People know this and are aware of the fact that those things can kill you, harm your body, toxin, psychological effect (addiction) - BUT, people still smoke and people still do drugs. We know that it's bad, but we still do it.

That seems to be the kind of thing your topic will have as well. If you smoke, you can tell people (what they already know) that smoking is bad, it causes lung cancer, breathing problems, heart problems, but it's unlikely it will change anything - they are still gonna smoke. Same thing with ghosting. If people ghost, you can tell them all the problems that come with it, but it's not gonna change anything - they are still gonna ghost.

The tone of the narration is working well. I also like the sound effect to help with transitions. The transition into the first clip is working well. It might be that the audio quality of the final narration files can be cleaned up a bit to make them sonically fit more seamlessly with the clips. The transition into the second clip feels a bit abrupt. The content is working well. Some polish on the narration audio and perhaps thinking about how the piece opens and ends, perhaps adding some music or thinking about the opening sound, etc. will make it even stronger. Nice work.
