Pinterest and Gender, Class, Ethnicity, and Social Groups

Through the reading assignments we completed in class, I learned a lot about how Pinterest is not targetted at certain demographics, social groups, or ethnicities. It is a commonplace where people come together to share their interests, no matter the background.

Pinterest and Identity

I learned how Pinterest allows people to look at things and websites that identify them. With the data we gathered we were able to analyze a digital identity which shows the interests and hobbies of an individual user on Pinterest.

Pinterest and Data Literacy

The Pinterest Project taught me a lot about data literacy and how important it is to understand how people use the internet. Understanding how data works and how it represents people's usage of the internet will help improve applications and websites.

Thoughts on Vertical Video

I thought it was an interesting perspective. It was certainly different to think of videos in this format but it definitely helped make the videos, which consisted of screencasting, pop out.
