As things wind down, we will spend a few minutes reflecting on our experiences with Pinterest. To get started, we will watch this video:

For discussion, we might consider:

  • the video medium for sharing research; the tall video format for composing
  • the levels of success with our data identity shaping experiment on Pinterest
  • broader questions about data, humans, and society

After we have chatted about the projects and our experiences, we will quickly check in on portfolio work, by looking at a draft.

Finally, I will go over final steps needed to wrap up the semester. We will use this checklist:

Look on Sakai to identify any outstanding items that you might need to submit.

Identify which of the three projects (DH video, podcast, Pinterest video) you want to revise; if you do not yet have feedback on the project, send me a message and I will provide some.

Compose your portfolio video; building the video around the project you choose to revise can be a good strategy. You can submit the portfolio video by uploading it to YouTube or Vimeo, and then posting it with this link. You will also add it to your portfolio.

Compose your portfolio. See the zoom recordings from the 9th, 14th, and the 16th for details on the composing. To submit the portfolio, you only need to continue editing and saving it on our site. I can also look over your work in progress if you let me know.

Send me a message when you are finished with the portfolio. Once you are satisfied, you can give me the word and submit the portfolio as your final product in the class. It is due at the end of our final exam period. I will be online at the beginning of our final (8:00PM, Friday May 1st). I will be happy to help with any issues along the way or during that time.
