Assassin's Creed as a Teaching Tool Tool

I like the way the opening narration layers over the visual story from the different versions. At 0:40 check the spelling on syndicate. There are a lot of episodes and information coming, so in a final version, slowing the narrative pacing and building in some transitions might be good. It's fine if it stretches out a short bit. The integration of audio from the games is a nice move. I wonder about the segments between 2:40 and 3:07. The segment on past vs history provides good information, but I'm wondering it the narration can explain that concept more succinctly and whether the typing segment mirroring the narration is working optimally. Maybe some typing that differed from the narration but made points about cultural memory while the audio from the segment plays. Or maybe you can chew on these segment and think through potential revisions. For some of the text on screen segments that start around 3:25, I'm having legibility issues. Perhaps identify a passage from those piece, enlarge the font, and zoom in to show it. Or reshoot with the browser view zoomed up just to move through the items. The points made while discussing the games do great at pulling out the threads of the cultural memory concerns. For the segments on game-based learning, I have similar thoughts as with the cultural memory segments. I know an aim for some of these pieces is weaving in variety in materials, but I'm starting to feel like the AC imagery and your narration may be a better focus and that you can clear some space for slowing the pace by just making these points as voiceover while covering the games. The Walden and later typing scene can also be considered in terms of how to streamline and make those points. The segment with the AC game designer resonates more directly with the other imagery and seems like it might be worth weaving in/keeping. Some of the points at the very end in the narration are working in this mode, so building on that approach could be good. Again, you can think about this and make decisions about how these segments might be reworked to deliver the information while thinking about the amount of materials and the aesthetics and holistic feel of the piece. Once the structural stuff and how best to weave in the conceptual points are worked out, you can think about some steps for potentially slowing the pace of the voiceover and getting as a good capture and cleaning the narrative quality. This is an ambitions piece that is working well. I feel like making it even more AC focused with the narration leading the way can help with streamlining and giving a more uniform aesthetic that will make it even stronger. Nice work.
