Choose another of the items, and then write freely about the projects in this class in terms of that item for four minutes.

Choose the third item from the list. Without discussing directly the projects, write freely about the activities and processes experienced in this class in terms of that item for five minutes.

  • Creativity
  • Problem Solving

Problem-solving has been a key component in our class. Each different software we use comes with many challenges and obstacles. For instance, I never was able to fully understand how to make my app interactive and I had to find other ways to do it. Another project that we had to solve problems within was the memes and gifs. I heard many people use photoshop so I assumed it was going to be easy. The hardest part of photoshop was figuring out what buttons do what because there were so many different things you could do.

  • Critical Thinking
  • Leadership
  • Communication
  • Collaboration
  • Information
  • Risk-taking

There is a lot of risk-taking in our projects. There is usually a general guideline of what to do, but the rest is up for interpretation. Sometimes I would spend hours on tasks not knowing it would work and have to start all over again. For example, for the portfolio video, I decided I would try iMovie instead of Snagit. I thought it was going to work out very well and be great for me but it did not work at all. I had to start at the complete beginner because of the risk I took. Another risk I took was the wording I put on memes.

Adaptability

  • Curiosity
  • Reflection

After each project, we are able to reflect on what we learned and what knowledge we were able to build on. One project I am reminded of was the portfolio video that we just accomplished. I looked at two projects; the twitter report and the app build. I learned that in the twitter report it is important to focus on the wording of your specific hashtag. The reflection that was most important throughout this course was the reflection that Professor Anderson gave us that helped us correct our problems. In those cases, we were able to go back and see how our projects were going and made corrections to them.

Finally, choose one item from the list below. Write freely about the projects in this class in terms of that item for five minutes.

  • Logic versus emotions
  • Role of visual, sonic, and textual media

The role of visual vs textual media is very different. The textual media we used were things like the app argument and the twitter report whereas the visual media was the memes and gifs. With the memes, the picture is just as important as the three words. You can interpret the meme any way you want because of how it looks, but the words are what helps you structure your thoughts. Usually, visual and textual media both work to enhance your thoughts. We worked on all textual media when we did the twitter report becuase most of it was done on excel and most was interpreted through text. But, at the end we made visual representations of our data to help easily interpret our findings.

  • Networks and social exchange
