Twitter Analysis Revisions

Use the printouts with feedback on your Twitter analysis to revise the report. To edit the report, you can navigate to the posting on our web site, and then simply Edit the text of the posting.

Follow these guidelines:

  • Pay attention to tone and genre. If you are working with a less formal, journalistic tone, you may want to adjust the format to move away from the research report style headings. You can also keep the more formal tone and format; just be consistent and choose the approach you want.
  • The integration of tweets. Recall that you can get the embed codes by clicking on the three dots at the top-right and getting the embed codes. (If the tweet has emojis, you will need to remove them.) Aim to integrate any sample tweets into the discussion so that they provide illustrations of concepts you take up.
  • The use of figures. Be sure to redo any charts that are not clear and concise in their labels. If something just says "count of" or some similar non-descriptive term, edit the format/settings of the chart to make it more informative. Also clean up any charts that have too many categories, synonyms or typo items, etc. Next be sure to label the figures using the caption field on the image dialog box on our web site. Also, referent the charts in the text of your report by pointing to their figure number.
  • Expand, tighten, and polish. Use the comments and copy edit suggestions and your own proofreading to revise the posting overall to be clear and compelling.

As you make revisions, save your posting periodically to backup your work. Just save the posting to submit your revisions. Complete your edits by Monday, October 14th.
